Latto is one of the top female hip hop influencers in the game so we must put the respect on her name and upon her being the topic of conversation. The rapper has always been an advocate for women rights. Encouraging women to do whatever they want with their bodies. Stating that men should not have any control or say so over what we wear and how we like to wear it.

The most recent shocking event in female culture is the Wade vs Roe court case. The court decided and ruled that women are banned from having abortions. That means it doesn’t matter how it happened or how inconvenient your situation is, you have to produce the child you’re carrying. And the majority who decided it were in fact men. So Latto’s voice on the matter is highly valued.

Latto released the single entitled “P” and seemingly addresses the double standards of the world. Rapping over a beat used by Jay Z. Fans are loving and praising it but critics are against it. One critic says “The narrative around female rappers ,that all they talk about is p* is pretty much true.” Latto claps back telling the critic that “The song is about empowering women and the roe v wade case.” Could she have gone a different route or used different wordings in this song? Does this push female rappers towards the goal of exercising women rights or does this keep them in the pool of men can say it why can’t we?
