John Peebles shares his passion for acting

John who has been an actor for fifteen years admits that acting is not as easy as it looks but his passion for the art outweighs the challenges that come with it.

John is a North Carolina native who resides in Los Angeles, California. John graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Political Science. John never dreamt of becoming an actor. His original goal was to play in the NFL, but due to a high school injury while playing football his dream was shattered. In college, some of his peers asked him to act in a movie they were producing. John had never thought about acting but decided to accept their offer and expand his horizon. He never imagined it was going to take him on the journey of a  lifetime. After doing the movie John was inspired by the role he played to become an actor and realized he was very comfortable in front of the camera.

John is known for his recurring role in One Tree Hill (2003), Hit a Lick (2017) Nights In Rodanthe (2008) and has appeared in “America’s Most Wanted” series as well as other movies throughout his acting career. When asked what was the most challenging about acting, John stated “It’s not really challenging, it’s the coming together of everybody and working on one project trying to get a good result that’s what I find most challenging”.  However, John did find auditioning challenging in the beginning. “At first, when I audition you had to be in front of people which was challenging but now it’s mostly videos like zoom.”  John elaborated about what he loves about acting “you get to tell stories of other people, stories I never thought existed stories different from my own stories. I love telling other people stories”.  John admits he’s not the big flamboyant acting type and he doesn’t have to be the next Denzel Washington he just enjoys acting and the opportunity to meet other professionals in the business. He does look forward to walking on the red carpet one day, but until then he will enjoy what he does and that’s acting.

John’s advice to people who want to become actors. “I’m going to tell them like I was told good actors have to be happy people and you have to live your life. You have to have your own experience and you have to have an active life so you can relate to the people you are betraying”.  When he is not auditioning or working on the movie set he enjoys working out, listening to music or outside enjoying nature. John is  also a Bartender for an exclusive hotel in Glendale California which is another one of his passions.
