Paramount+ released the official trailer for the highly anticipated original series SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS yesterday. The show will premiere with two episodes on Sunday, July 23 in the U.S. and all Paramount+ international markets, exclusively on the streaming service. The espionage thriller, directed by Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, boasts an impressive ensemble cast. This includes series lead and executive producer Zoe Saldaña, along with Laysla De Oliveira, Emmy Award nominee Michael Kelly, Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, and Academy Award winner and executive producer Nicole Kidman. “SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS” is a collaboration between MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, specifically created for Paramount+. Paramount Global Content Distribution is responsible for distributing the series outside of Paramount+ markets.
SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS is a captivating series that draws inspiration from a real U.S. Military program. The show revolves around the life of Joe (Saldaña), a remarkable individual who strives to find a harmonious equilibrium between her personal and professional commitments. As a key member of the CIA, she serves as the forefront in the battle against terrorism. The Lioness Program, led by Kaitlyn Meade (played by Kidman) and Donald Westfield (played by Kelly), recruits Cruz (played by De Oliveira), a skilled Marine Raider, to work covertly with Joe in the CIA’s mission to prevent another 9/11 attack by infiltrating the influential figures involved in state terrorism.
