Aaron Jennings & Grasie Mercedes talk Grand Crew Season 2

Grand Crew season 2 is back and even funnier. This season we get to see more character development with each character. I spoke with Aaron Jennings, who plays Anthony, and Grasie Mercedes, who plays Fay. We discussed the new season, their character growth, and the love situation between Anthony and Fay.
Cox: Aaron Jennings and Grasie Mercedes, I’m excited to speak with you both about the new season of Grand Crew and the first couple of episodes we have all enjoyed watching so far. But first, how has it been for you both now on the second season of the show?
Jennings: It’s been amusing this season. I enjoy watching it in real-time and seeing people’s reactions on Twitter. I love how much they are enjoying it as well.
Mercedes: I agree it’s been so much fun, especially reading what everyone says on Twitter. I really enjoy reading what they have to say. For example, in last week’s episode, people thought that Anthony (played by Aaron Jennings) needed to stop talking (laughs).
Jennings: Wait, what?
Mercedes: Yeah, it was the bar scene at the end of the episode.
Cox: The bar scene and this back-and-forth with Anthony and Fay. What do you both think about where it’s going now that Anthony is back single. Do you feel how he handled everything was right?
Jennings: I don’t think he did anything wrong. He was trying to be honest, and I don’t see an issue. But if that’s the general consensus on Twitter (laughs), then maybe it was a problem. I guess Anthony just doesn’t know when to shut up.
Cox: You know, I think if I have to play Devil’s advocate, everyone is a little at fault, not just Anthony. He was just being honest, and I believe Fay took it more personally. But remember, Fay called and texted late in the evenings, knowing Anthony had a girlfriend.
Jennings: I like that perceptive, Michael; it’s very well balanced.
Cox: Aaron, we see Anthony stepping outside his shell. Do you like the growth you have seen for him this season?
Jennings: Yeah, I am, and it’s because when we were first introduced to him, he was all about his job. That was the number one priority in his life. And now we see him more outside and even opening up to dating. He’s making himself more available for things in life. I like seeing that he is loosening up a little bit more. This season has just started, so I can’t give too much.
Cox: Grasie, what do you think about Fay’s journey so far? Do you see growth?
Mercedes: I think she is still trying to figure out life. She’s still relatively new to LA and to the group. She is still slightly cautious about things, but we have seen her evolving and getting out of her shell.
Cox: I want both of your perspectives. Do you want Anthony and Fay to officially start dating each other?
Jennings: I will say this. They both are fun pairings because they bring out different sides of each other. And overall, the fans want them to be a couple, and I like what they want.
Mercedes: Yes, I want them to, but Fay is cautious. I don’t think she likes the risk of losing Anthony as a friend if it doesn’t work out. Dating in LA is already complicated; potentially losing a friend makes her second-guess it a little more.
Cox: Before you both go, what do you want fans to take away from this season?
Mercedes: I want people to continue to connect with the characters. Instead, it’s one or a combination of a few. I hope they keep having fun and learning more about the characters.
Jennings: Yes, I agree with Gracie. I hope people can see themselves in at least one of the characters. I want people to feel seen and heard by the characters and have fun while doing it.
