Anthony Hamilton speaks on upcoming events and how he handles success!

Anthony Hamilton is no stranger to the world he has filled our homes and hearts with his amazing soulful sound with songs like Do you feel me, I can’t let go, Where I come from and many more. Most black people can relate to his music because we have all been there at one point in our lives. But Anthony who is a native of North Carolina has become quite an entrepreneur with his store Hamilton Corner Store, where you can purchase grits and cornbread, Anthony Hamilton merch, where you can purchase inspired gifts and merchandise and finally Anthony Hamilton x France Grey Capsule Hat Collection. You can say he has been busy. 

Anthony recently received the NAACP Image award for the best male artist “it came as a surprise for me because I had been out of the marketplace for a minute. Just coming back out and people realizing what I mean to the marketplace and music and my contribution to black culture they felt it was necessary to nominate me and allow me to win,” said Hamilton. It comes as no surprise to me after all he is one of the greatest R&B singers in the world. No one does old school and new school music like Anthony Hamilton.

Anthony also has a new album Love Is the New Black has hit the scene with songs like Threw It All Away, I’m ready, I thought We Were In Love are just a few songs on the album that will certainly get your blood flowing. “Love is the New Black is a classic the title is about going through the pandemic and going through the racial divide; the album was shaping up to be something different there was some anger in there also disappointments about being treated unfairly as a black man and the black community. As time went on my heart began to soften and since people have already been through a lot, let me change it up a little bit and give them hope,” said Hamilton.  The album is an album of hope and has songs that will lift your spirits.

The album features Jennifer Hudson, Superstar, Rick Ross, and Lil Jon. Anthony has been touring for the last couple of months with Maxwell and Joe Joe when asked how that was coming along, he stated “the tour has been great, we are 5 shows in and we have about 20 more to go. There have been great crowds around 10 or 15 thousand every night basically selling out captivating a lot of people. We have a lot of respect for each other, and we’re fans of each other and watching each other every night brings back another type of magic,” said Hamilton.  

Anthony has a show coming up on March 20^th in Greensboro North Carolina which I’m sure will be a sell out as well. But with all his success his priority is his children. He makes it very clear that neither success nor money will take him away from his family. Anthony states having a strong team helps him prioritize things making sure he takes time out for himself and his family. “Making sure I let them know they are priority and that they feel loved allows me to feel freer and take time to relax. Every dollar isn’t for you, and I don’t need every dollar. I don’t have to make it all, I don’t care, I don’t have to have every car, every house, every diamond that stuff doesn’t make you healthy. It doesn’t give you better sleep and it doesn’t give you a better quality of life,” said Hamilton.    

I must say I agree with Anthony one hundred percent when choosing between success and money because at the end of the day your family is the most valuable asset you have in this world.
