Interviewer: Welcome, Jordan! Introduce yourself to our readers.
Jordan: Hi, I am Jordan! I Grew up in the midwest, specifically, in a small town in Iowa. I am not new to acting, but I landed a role in a cool movie alongside cool people!
Q: Was acting/industry work always in the cards for you?
Jordan: Surprisingly no! Growing up in the midwest, you don’t have lofty dreams, you know? I kind of fell into it! At 13, I was at the mall, and there was this kiosk for an agency. The person suggested I should give acting a try, and I went for it. I was a sports kid my whole life, so that was outside of my comfort zone, but I got into it. As I made my way into it all, My family and I moved out to L.A. I began taking acting classes, and I got some agencies to commit to.
Q: That is a great start! So, how did your role in Hustle come about?
Jordan: Hustle is such a cool project to have been a part of! It is my first film! A very exciting first gig. It kind of just happened, and I am along for the ride!
Q: How did you prepare for the role of Alex Sugerman?
Jordan: I just stuck to what was written. Bouncing off of the energy of those around me.
Q: Speaking of preparation, how do you typically start your day? Do you have a specific routine?
Jordan: That is a great question! Well, that depends. On the days I am at my best, I wake up, my phone is in another room, I make the bed, meditate, journal, go on a walk, feed my cat Butterscotch then work on centring myself for an hour. On the days I am not at my best, I wake up, and roll around in the bed on my phone.
Q: What is something exciting happening for you right now?
Jordan: Career-wise, I am excited to have been a part of The L-Word for 3 seasons. I am truly a part of something special. In my personal life, I am learning how to take care of myself.
Q: What does that self-care piece consist of for you?
Jordan: Self-care looks like being off social media, not so attached to others’ perceptions of me and what I am. I am choosing quality over quantity by surrounding myself with joyful people.
I also focus on my hobbies! I am a part of a women’s basketball league, I play soccer, surf, garden, knit, read, and bake. I have a lot of grandma qualities! I love to hang out in the park with my friends.
Q: Okay, I have to ask now that we are talking about hobbies–what is that last good book you´ve read?
Jordan: I have two: One is Transit, by Rachel Cusk. Itś a trilogy, and an amazing read. The other one is My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Otessa Moshfegh.
Q: What’s next for Jordan Hull?
Jordan: More great projects in film. Working on Season 3 of The L-Word. We just started filming in June and you all can watch that later this year.
