Shifting into Your with Dr. Cheyenne Bryant

When it comes to shifting into your purpose and following your passion, I always say find yourself and there’s your purpose. Shifting into your purpose looks like your authentic self. The more you gain awareness of who you are and not who others want you to be or dogma the closer you get to purpose and passion. The reason why it’s challenging for people to shift is because they’re stuck in an external identity that has been shaped by their outer environment causing them to show up as who they’ve been codependently taught to be. Once an individual begins to identify themselves by their internal being which in return is their authentic self not only do they find purpose and passion they also find freedom.
What people can do when they find it difficult to make the shift is meditate daily for 20 minutes. Meditation brings you closer to self and aligns you with your authenticity. Take inventory of what feels aligned and what feels disconnected. This will help you start to “be” and stop doing. Doing is exhausting, being is liberating.
Some psychological factors that may play a part in shifting are learned behavior, dogma, and identity crisis. Learned behavior creates an “environment identity” that results in a loss of sense of self. Dogma, forces people to create an identity that is based on what others think of them or want their identity to be. Identity crisis stems from not being able to fully be yourself as a child, so you grow up with an internal struggle based on who you had to be, who you want to be, and who you really are.
Shifting into who you are means shifting into your authentic self. Doing only the things that are in alignment with what brings you peace and joy. Shifting into your authentic self looks and feels like freedom.
If someone’s current support system doesn’t encourage or support their shift they should trust themselves enough to do what’s best for them. They should show up in ways that give them a sense of peace and joy. The true essence of a support system are people who facilitate you and your growing process not compress or project their beliefs onto you. Just like soil does for a plant.
