It’s been two years since the first season of “Cherish The Day”, created and produced by Ava DuVernay, premiered on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network). In the second season, which airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c, viewers are introduced to a new couple in the anthology, Ellis Moran (Henry Simmons) and Sunday St. James (Joy Bryant), as they explore rekindling their high school relationship after 25 years apart.
According to OWN, Cherish the Day is an anthology series that chronicles the relationship of one couple.
In season two, the rekindling of a romance is told — the love story of Ellis Moran (Henry Simmons) and Sunday St. James (Joy Bryant), who fell in love in high school, but find themselves reunited in beautiful New Orleans.
Ellis is a former basketball player who is now a single father of two and Sunday is a vegetarian celebrity chef on the cusp of fame.
Mandeville “MV” St. James (RichardRoundtree) is a proud, loving, wry-humored former judge and widowed father of Sunday, and Anastasia (Terri J. Vaughn) is Ellis’ soon-to-be ex-wife and the mother of their children
Loving it! A feel good story of “Black Love”. In light of everything else going on in the world; we need this!
Love the story line and a story showing “Black love” without the seemingly acrimony always associated with our love. Love the principle characters and supporting cast.
