Ice-T Receives His Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

On Friday, February 17, Tracy Lauren “Ice-T” Marrow cemented another phenomenal accomplishment. He was honored with a much-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a historical landmark in Los Angeles, California. His loving wife, Coco, and his beautiful daughter Chanel Nicole joined him on the red carpet for family photo ops.
Many showed up to support Ice-T on his big day. Ice Cube, the group Body Count, and various other entertainment industry peers were in attendance. Public Enemy rapper Chuck D, Law & Order franchise producer Dick Wolf, and Law & Order: SVU co-star Mariska Hargitay spoke on his behalf.
“He is universally liked by his compatriots,” Wolf said, “and I assume the same is true of the music world.”
Mariska Hargitay shared her gratitude for the man she calls “the OG of friendship.” “You have been by my side working, learning, living, growing, and you have never failed me once, Ice, ” she said. “You are so deeply gracious and so profoundly grateful.”
Ice-T’s musical confidant Chuck D shared fond memories of his relationship with the honoree and his impact on the culture. He gave Ice his flowers by saying, “He has changed the world with words.”
Ice-T is a cultural icon who has heavily impacted the entertainment industry. He began his career as an underground rapper in the 80s. In 1989, he launched Rhyme Syndicate Records and released several groundbreaking West Coast rap records. He formed the thrash metal band Body Count with his high school friend and guitarist Ernie C in 1992. They received a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for their single “Black Hoodie” in 2018 and a Grammy award for their song “Bum Rush” in 2021.
Ice-T’s acting career began in the 1991 classic New Jack City. His other film and television credits include Ricochet, Trespass, Johnny Mnemonic, Surviving the Game, Tank Girl, Law and Order: SVU, Chicago PD, and many more. He has paved an inspirational legacy as a Rapper, Actor, Producer, and Author.
Ice-T was overwhelmed with joy and appreciation following the speeches. “I’d like to thank everybody that came up and said all that stuff about me,” he expressed. “I wore these glasses, not for fashion, but I knew they might make me cry.” He had so much to be grateful for that day.
His Walk of Fame honor was just one of many milestones he had obtained. He is celebrating 23 years as a co-star on Law & Order: SVU and recently celebrated his 65th birthday. Ice-T concluded his speech with thanks to his haters. “I wanna thank the haters,” he said. “You really make me wake up in the morning and be the best I can be.”
Congratulations to the OG! He reached for the stars, claimed his, and he is shining bright.
Ice-T’s Walk of Fame star is the 2,747th star to be given. A press release states that it is located at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard, between La Brea and Sycamore avenues. He was awarded the star in the category of Recording.
