Q: Tell us about your upcoming role in the Amazon Prime series Paper Girls
Camryn: The show is about four girls, a very diverse group of girls, in the year 1988. They’re delivering the paper the day after Halloween, which they call “Hell Day”, they get caught in this time war between rival factions. It’s kind of this coming-of-age story that involves time travel and action. The girls have to work together not only to get home but to keep each other’s spirits high and they interact with each other well. I think it’s a cool project.
Q: The series is based on the comic book series of the same name. Did you get the chance to read these comic books?
Camryn: So I was auditioning right after the callback I was going to I was called to test. And so I read the first book so I could get a better grasp on it before I tested but I didn’t want to get the entire series before to like jinx myself or anything. So I read the first book, and then I booked it, and then I read all of the rest of them so I could get a better grasp on Tiffany. Then I bought every single edition.

Q: Tell us about your character. Is she similar to you in any way?
Camryn: Tiffany and I have a lot of similarities, but we’re also very different. We’re both very passionate. She’s very passionate about technology. We both have an appreciation for technology but she’s a lot more into it than I am. We’re both very protective of our friends, which I like because I can relate to her in that way. It’s interesting seeing how I can put myself into her shoes because while she’s an only child, I have two sisters, so I think it’s cool to see how she lives because I can’t imagine not having my sisters.
Q: What has been your favourite part about working on the series?
Camryn: That’s a hard one. The experience in itself is amazing. But I would say meeting new people because I’ve had to meet so many people for this project; all the guest stars, all the extras, everybody working on the show, and I just think it’s so amazing to meet people because you learn from every single person on set and are exposed to all those new points of views. It’s amazing to me.
Q: Do you have any upcoming projects we should look out for?
Camryn: Just Paper Girls, for now.
